I have also used the Braillenote successfully with Earthlink, but in
order for the list to assist you, you'll need to tell us what dial-up
service you use and we would also need to know if you were given the
correct information (pop3 server, SMTP server dns server if necessary)
by your isp.
Thanks.

Subject: [Braillenote] e-mail issue

I apologize if this issue has already been raised on this list--I
haven't read the digests for a while. Last week, I had quite a bit of
difficulty getting an e-mail account set up on a Braille Note that is
running version 5.1. I called tech support twice but they were unable to
help me and they eventually concluded that it was the fault of my
network. I tried three separate e-mail services. I eventually tried a
dial up service that had been recommended to me. While I was able to
logon successfully I kept getting an error message. We then tried
setting up the same service on a Braille Note that was running 4.01. And
it worked! I uninstalled v. 5.1 to see what would happen if I ran it on
5.0 and I wasn't even able to add a service. It acted like it was adding
the record but when I went into the directory of services to look it up
it wasn't there anymore. I tried multiple resets but got the same
result.
Braille Note users are obviously successfully using version 5.1 with
e-mail. Can someone recommend a dial up service that is working for
them? If my current dial up service works with 4.01 I'm assuming that
this a software issue related to version 5 and 5.1. Is this an issue
that Pulse Data is aware of? Thank you for your help and recommendations
in advance!

Krista
