Margaret,
I don't know about Peoplepc specifically, but some email providers require
SMTP authentication and there is an option in the email setup for this. If
you haven't tried it already, you might try setting this option to "YES" and
see if you can get the email.
As for wireless, if your student is running Keysoft 6.11, then wireless is
an option but it will require a wireless compact flash card. There are just
a couple of these cards that currently work with the BN. You should check
on the specific model numbers before purchasing one. Your student will
still have to have an email account they can access though. The wireless
connection is really just another method to connect to an ISP and if the
email does not work with dialup, it probably won't work over the wireless
connection
Does peoplepc have an option to look at email via a web browser? This is
another option you might check.

Subject: [Braillenote] email provider question
I'm trying to set up a student with email at home for the summer and her
family uses PeoplePC. I've tried setting it up on her Braillenote but keep
getting an "authentication error." Does anyone successfully use People PC
dial up with the BrailleNote?
If we can't use her PeoplePC account, she can go to the library and use
wireless. Does anyone know if Gmail will work with a wireless connection?
