Hi Reggie, If you're talking about the wep keys, many routers will allow for several keys. Mine allows for 4, for example. But, the bn only will recognize and respond to the first key specified in the router, so you want to match that one.
I often get the "new visible network" message when trying to connect and it doesn't seem to hurt anything. You can turn on the wireless card and then go to "scan for networks" and you will get a list of the networks it finds. I see my own, and sometimes another one which I'm not sure just what it is, maybe it's a neighbor's or something. There is an option in there which says automatically connect to non preferred networks. The default is yes, but I changed it to no as I personally found it a bit consufing as I want to control when and to what I connect, but that's just my personal thing. Hard to get through with all of us having growing pains to understand wireless, but they really try hard (smile). Ann, I am certainly going to try placing the router in the open, (trying to find the time), but just to let you know, I think I now have found part of the trouble. My BN wants to connect to another network. Keeps popping up and saying "new network recognized. I asked it to scan and it put in everything. Perhaps this is part of the problem? Also, we are going to and use the #1 key will this help to encourage the BN to see "my" router? I looked onconnectivity and there are some settings concerning whether one wants to see all networks, (can't remember the other options). Would any of these options be worth manipulating to overcome my "new network" syndrome? OK, vowed I wouldn't write a book tonight, butt again, thanks for all the help! It's almost there I think!
