Folks, We here at Humanware are obviously aware of the excitement that the release of KeySoft 6.1 is causing. We're aware that there have been a few discrepancies over what some people have been told and as I speak, we're working to improve communication channels across the board so everyone gets the same message. Recently, you will have seen messages from Humanware staff trying to give everyone the same and correct story but all the chatter, financial transactions and the failure of list members to read all their email before sending to the list which makes for a lot of unnecessary traffic, is making this task next to impossible.
Please consider this a warning and the first and last one at that! If this behaviour continues over the weekend, I will, without hesitation, ensure that every list member's messages have to be approved for a period of 3 days. Obviously if this happens, they will only be approved and sent when I choose to sit down and go through the messages. This is not an attempt to suppress any criticism because criticism, if it is constructive, is extremely helpful. What is more, I would have acted before now if we wanted to do that. We place a high value on freedom of speech and evidence of that is the list's current state but only so much can be tolerated. Folks, the complaints about the list are flowing into my inbox once again and they will stop! When 90-100 messages appear on the list over an 8 hour period, with 90% of the traffic being unnecessary and/or only relevant to 1 or 2 people on the list, it reduces the will of others to contribute and sort the good information from the personal chatter. You cannot expect Humanware to be responsive to your requests when currently, a valuable amount of the work day is spent, reading messages that effectively take us away from work related activities. I hope you all hear this loud and clear and that the minority, will no longer spoil it for the majority on this list - and remember, I will make good on my promise to set everyone's moderation flag over the weekend if necessary. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
