hi beth,
as a matter of interest, did you have your card in the bcak slot of the bn or
was it in the side slot using an adapter?
the card on which i've lost data is a 1 gb card on which i had my gps data and
flash backup and a few other bits, and was in the back slot.
i was in a car putting in a few pois while travelling in a new area, and the
the next day, woosh, everything was gone from the card. just as well that i
put a copy of my gps data on my laptop, although it's a few weeks since i
updated the copy of my points of interest because it's not the sort of thing
you expect to happen.
if i put the card in my laptop and go in to my computer, the drive doesn't even
show up. i've got a pal who's going to look at my card and see if anything can
be done, but i'm not optomistic.
fin'y, this could be a serious problem, and unless anyone is desperate for
wireless connectivity to go on the net, i would caution against upgrading until
the problem has been resolved.
richard.

>Subject: [Braillenote] Lost Data: Keysoft 6.11 BrailleNote BT

> Hello everyone,

>I've just installed my Keysoft 6.11 this week and it's been wonderful!!!
>However, I've run into a problem that maybe someone can help me resolve, or
>perhaps others are experiencing it as well.

> I use my BrailleNote for taking notes and reading my electronic
>textbooks in school. The electronic books are in Word 97 format, each
>chapter is saved as a separate file. Before I received my 6.11, I used the
>5.1 version of Keysoft and read these with no problems, no data loss or any
>other problem. The files are stored on my Compaq flash card.

> Now, since I've upgraded to Keysoft 6.11, I have lost two chapters in my
>book for no apparent reason. In both instances, I was reading a chapter
>about Cisco routers, I reached my stop on the bus and I pressed e with the
>space bar to exit as I've always done. When I arrived at school and tried
>to pick up where I left off, the file was blank!! This has happened to me
>twice, and I don't understand why. As I've said, I've never had this
>problem at all with my BrailleNote BT, nothing has changed with my files, or
>the Compaq flash card.

> If anyone from Humanware can make any suggestions as to how I can
>prevent this problem, or if anyone else has experienced it, I would greatly
>appreciate your comments and suggestions.

> Thanks for reading my message,

>Beth
