isn't it fun to be in a totally different area of the house and still get your e-mail? Man I just had a super scare. I yanked the notebook adapter out of the IBM because I wanted to put 2 books onto a flash card and man if that didn't send my wireless connection realing but I got it fixed and you all will get my e-mail but I love wi-fi

Subject: [Braillenote] wireless and the PK

Hi All,

Well, seeing as I'm not an expert on any of these things, I've kind of had
fun, grin, in trying to get everything set up on my PK. I still haven't
gotten the Bluetooth thing figured out, but I've finally had success with
the Wireless Ethernet.

Actually, I would have had that wireless set up a lot sooner and easier had
I just known what not to use as an SSID for my network. For, seeing as it
worked on my other devices, I just of course assumed the same one would work
with my PK. However, when I changed the name of the SSID and took out the
apostrophe, then the PK connected to it just fine.

On the way to getting there and trying to find the problem, though, I did a
major bad thing to my 2WIRE
router and had to finally install the 2WIRE/SBC software to get things right
again. For, I had that router so secure that I had even locked myself out
of it! Then, of course, once I had my router and network all working
together again, I had to go back and get all that SBC stuff off my system.

Anyway, once I got things all set up, I was indeed able to connect to secure sites with no problem--well, at least the three I tried. And, it was fast,
too. I viewed my
account info at the Cingular Wireless cellular site and MBNA Net Access
credit card site, as well as made a secure payment with PayPal.

So, all in all, things are going well with the PK. It is taking me some
time, though, to get used to having the spacebars so far away from the rest of the text input keys, but I guess I just need to practice more and it will
probably seem like normal at some point.
