Hi All,

Ann, the "Document was modified. Save as a KeyWord document?" prompt appears
when you have modified any type of document on the BrailleNote which is not a
KeyWord Text or Braille file. At the prompt, you can press Y for "Yes" which
will create a KeyWord copy of the document, but note that the copy which is not
a KeyWord type document is also retained. This means that you will have two
copies of the document, one being a KeyWord type and the other being in another
format that isn't KeyWord. For example, if you had been modifying a Rich Text
Format (.rtf) file, and you answered Y when you received this prompt upon
exiting the document and returning to the Main Menu, you would have both a Rich
Text Format and a KeyWord Text (.kwt) copy of the document. Note that a
non-Keyword type Text document (.doc, .rtf, .txt, .wp5 extensions) would be
saved as a KeyWord Text Document default, and a non-Keyword Type Braille
document (.brf, .braille) document would be saved by default as a KeyWord
Braille (.kwb) document by default if you answered Yes to this prompt; if you
had answered Yes, when receiving the "Document Name?" prompt upon choosing the
location of the KeyWord type copy you are saving (you can press BACKSPACE at
the "Document Name?" prompt to change the folder and drive of the KeyWord Type
document), you can press [BACKSPACE with X], [CONTROL with X] to change the
type of document you want this copy to be saved as. Alternatively, you can
press N for "No" at the "Document has been modified" prompt for all changes to
be retained, but no KeyWord Type document will be created, so you will only
have one copy of the document in its original format. Alternatively still, you
can press S at the prompt for "Suppress", and this will mean that you will not
see this prompt again for this file. In general, you will not see extensions
such .kwt, .kwb, .klt (KeyList Text), and .fnb (Folder Name File, which stores
file names in Grade II Braille, so you can view them as such if your Preferred
Reading Grade in the Braille Display Options of the Options Menu is set to
Grade II) when viewing files on the BN, so don't be alarmed if you don't see
them because this is normal. HTH.

Maria
