I hope that your mentors will share the answers to your questions online
and onlist. The "old hands" can simply delete the superflous information,
but even though there are lots of technically savvy folks on this list,
I'll bet there are others who are new or just haven't practiced doing
out-of-the-ordinary things while they've had the BN, who could benefit from
the answers to your questions and the other information that experienced
users can share.
To delete a file, open the folder that the file is in. When the BN asks
for document name, use the space bar which will initiate a list of
documents. Arrow down this list until you reach the file you wish to
delete. Then - when your cursor is pointing to the file - hit dots 1 and 4
along with the space bar and the backspace key. The BN will ask you if
you're sure you want to delete the file. Just answer with a "Y" for yes.
The same command is the one you use to change information in the fields of
the address list.

I just purchased a BrailleNote and, with no training readily available to

the machine, but also realize what a steep learning curve I'm

My initial questions are these (which all of you proficient BrailleNote
users are going to find are really "scary"!!!:
1. I can find absolutely nothing in the BN manuals or help menus about how
to delete a document. I find "delete word", "delete sentence"--but nothing
about deleting the entire document. I assumed it would be listed in the
same menu as "open a document", but it doesn't appear to be there.
2. With the assistance of tech support, I figured out how to insert the
WiFi card (now--setting WiFi up so that I can use it at my local Borders
is a different story.) However, the tech couldn't get through to me how to
insert the compact flash card. I know it goes into the back slot, where
the WiFi card can also be inserted, but beyond that. . .
3. How does one install upgrades? I'm not all that great at cabling to
other computers, Etc., so I'm hoping it can all be done with the
stand-alone unit. (I'm absolutely getting the disk drive as soon as the
bugs are fixed.)
This is just the beginning of the many questions I can't find answers to
in the manuals.
