Do you have DHCP enabled on the router? If so, remove the card. Perform a
456/JKL reset, setting the time and date appropriately. Next, insert the
network card again and after a few seconds, you should be away laughing. In
this situation, BNIP config doesn't need to be, and shouldn't be used in
most instances.

Have you established the partnership while connected via serial port and
then run the bnipconfig.exe program to program the bn with the correct
parameters
from your pc?
I am successfully using activesync connecting to the bn via the ethernet
card here.
Also, after you set the parameters for the bn be sure to disconnect
activesync and also look in connection settings within activesync to be
sure you have all
the boxes checked properly. I uncheck the box telling activesync to look
on serial port and check the one for activesync to use the network.
Finally, I've found it's a good idea to do a simple reset of the bn after
you program it with the parameters from bnipconfig.exe.
