Don,

When I ran bnipconfig and selected the "Get IPI Parameters" button I only got numbers in the IP address for the PC and the default gateway. The PC'S address seems to be correct as I can verify it by looking at the network connection in the Windows Control Panel and the "Default Gateway" address is correct as it is the IP address for the router. When I look at the DHCP table on the router I can see the connections and have determined which IP address the BrailleNote should be using. I put this address in, select "Program BN" and receive the ssuccessfully programmed message. However after disconnecting ActiveSync and changing the appropriate settings on both the PC and the BrailleNote I still get no connection upon selecting "Connect to ActiveSync" from the "utilities" menu.

Chuck,

When you ran bnipconfig did you get numbers in most of the fields or were they 0? The reason I ask is that I get numbers for the addresses and dhcp is checked, but on my wife's machine all the numbers come up 0 and I have to code them in by hand. I did get numbers at one time on her machine, but apparently when we moved and I set up the network again, something somewhere changed.

If you don't get numbers, and if your computer is the primary machine, I might be able to give you numbers that would work. If you're getting zeros, this sure
wouldn't hurt anything to try.

Also, are you able to connect the bn to your router for things other than activesync?

Don, I have done all things you mentioned below. Still no luck.
Anyone else with any thoughts on this issue.

Chuck,

Have you established the partnership while connected via serial port and
then run the bnipconfig.exe program to program the bn with the correct
parameters
from your pc?

I am successfully using activesync connecting to the bn via the ethernet
card here.

Also, after you set the parameters for the bn be sure to disconnect
activesync and also look in connection settings within activesync to be
sure you have all
the boxes checked properly. I uncheck the box telling activesync to look
on serial port and check the one for activesync to use the network.

Finally, I've found it's a good idea to do a simple reset of the bn after
you program it with the parameters from bnipconfig.exe.

I hope this is enough info to help you out. If I can assist further,
don't hesitate to let me know.

I am currently using the BrailleNote QT with KeySoft 5.1 build 22 and

ethernet card. I have the CP ethernet card recommended by Pulse Data and
have followed the proceedures to connect via ethernet (i.e. I have followd
the steps outlined in appendix D section D1 "Instructions for Setting Up

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. This list is great!
