Hi All,

I have no problem with the web browser and html. My problem is when e-mail messages contain html code the PK doesn't handle it very well. I have not seen anything about this problem in the manual.

Here's one line quoted from the manual:
An internet browser called KeyWeb, that allows you to search and use the world
wide web and also read locally stored html documents.
So whatever that means. there's lots more about html in the manual.

It seems that I recall there was a discussion about HTML files on a way-back list topic. My understand was that HTML can be read with the pk, that was one of the great things about the pk. I also believe this is what I may have heard about 6.01. Hope I understood correctly.

Robert,
can you come over and setup my pk,please? <grin. sounds like a great
report. Isn't there special settings for the html stuff? I bet if you
searched themanual there might be something on that. I find it hard to
believe this machine can't handle that. You get this on a lot of websites.

Hi,

I recently received my BrailleNote PK. I have written about my initial
reactions and thought I would provide an update as I have had the chance to
try more things.

1. I was able to use a Socket low power ethernet card and connect my PK to my local area network at work. Setting it up was extremely easy. It loaded web
pages nearly as fast as my desktop does.

2. I have been using the e-mail client on the PK with good success.
Downloading of e-mail is very fast over my broadband wireless connection. I do not like the way that the PK handles html e-mail. The html code shows up
as garbage. This needs to be addressed. Otherwise, the e-mail works fine.

3. I used the pk browser to go shopping on Amazon.com. I was able to easily
search for and purchase the Sennheiser PX100 headphones that I was looking
for. Keyweb worked great over the secure site. I was able to fill in credit card and address information with no problem. Shopping on Amazon doesn't seem
to be a problem for the PK at all. This was very cool!

4. I have been using the PK a lot since I got it last Tuesday and have not
yet had to do a reset. This pleases me as it seems very stable even when
browsing and emailing.
