Hello Terry,

Although I don't know what caused my data loss, I don't think it's
attributable only to the fact that I've upgraded. Although the problem has
only occurred since then, it would be foolish to blame Keysoft 6.11 until we
have more information. Any operating system, whether it's Windows or
Keysoft, can experience data loss, I've lost things on Windows at times as
well, including an entire email folder full of important messages. I don't
know why it happened, just as I don't know why I lost my data. My message
was mainly to inform Humanware that this has happened in case there really
is a problem, but second, to see if anyone else has had this problem or if
it's just something with my equipment. As I said, it would be premature in
my opinion, not to upgrade because of what I've experienced, since we have
no information that my problem is concretely and definitely related to the
upgrade. Perhaps Dean or Jonathan will see these messages and share their
wisdom with us.<smile>

Best Regards,

Beth

Beth and Others;
Does anyone know what makes a BN delete files for no reason. I am using a
5.1 and that makes me fearful of moving forward to 6.11.
If you copy one CF card to another wont they both have the same file names?
The jentleman that lost all the files suggested you alter the file name when
making a copy.
I sure hope you did not mean copy everything by hand, from the computer,
twice.

Hi Matthew,

Yes, I've tried every reset immaginable, unfortunately, this didn't solve my
problem of the missing data. It's gone into the great bit bucket in the sky
I'm afraid.

    Hello everyone,

I've just installed my Keysoft 6.11 this week and it's been wonderful!!!
However, I've run into a problem that maybe someone can help me resolve, or
perhaps others are experiencing it as well.

I use my BrailleNote for taking notes and reading my electronic
textbooks in school. The electronic books are in Word 97 format, each
chapter is saved as a separate file. Before I received my 6.11, I used the
5.1 version of Keysoft and read these with no problems, no data loss or any
other problem. The files are stored on my Compaq flash card.

Now, since I've upgraded to Keysoft 6.11, I have lost two chapters in my
book for no apparent reason. In both instances, I was reading a chapter
about Cisco routers, I reached my stop on the bus and I pressed e with the
space bar to exit as I've always done. When I arrived at school and tried
to pick up where I left off, the file was blank!! This has happened to me
twice, and I don't understand why. As I've said, I've never had this
problem at all with my BrailleNote BT, nothing has changed with my files, or
the Compaq flash card.

If anyone from Humanware can make any suggestions as to how I can
prevent this problem, or if anyone else has experienced it, I would greatly
appreciate your comments and suggestions.

    Thanks for reading my message,

Beth
