The safety valve is constantly hissing -- the main issue with that is
some mornings I wake up and the machine is off because all the water was
sent out the safety valve as steam! :-)

The pressure builds fine to 1.4 (the setting of my p-stat), but drops
faster than it used to, and kicks in again at 1.2.

I created a cone of paper to let me hear exactly where the problem was
(a pretty cheap stethoscope!), and steam appears to be coming out the
bottom of the safety valve.

Has anyone rebuilt / cleaned a safety valve? A 50/50 mix of
vinagre/peroxide (aka peracetic acid) for a few mins should do the
trick...
