I just blow a gasket and vent every once in a while. I am having no shortage of inspiration with the Startide scene. If anything, I have too much inspiration. After making the dolphin harness this morning in a mere 30 minutes, I foolishly decided I would redesign the mechanical arms for the harness. Oops, big mistake. I spent at least 4 hours of debating/drawing/engineering different designs. Little was accomplished, and I still haven't settled on a design. Fortunately, last night I played a bit with the effects I will be using with the scene, and found another method to produce an effect I had already created. Not only does the new method look better, but it also renders much faster (on some especially demanding frames, it is almost 6 times faster). So what was going to take a full weekend to render may only require a single day to render now, so I have more time to tinker.
