That's just about when I tried to get into (and quickly got out of) MtG. Fortunately for me, I didn't have a group of friends playing, to boost the habit, and more fortunately, my interest peaked at a point where it was extremely hard to buy any cards besides the Fallen Empires boosters. Apparently, they were ramping up for the new 4th rev (I think) sets which weren't available yet, but almost all the 3rd revs had run out.
