I grew up on a farm, and "licensing agreements" and "piracy" over "single season" seeds amazes me. I am torn on this issue. On one hand, I understand Monsanto's position on wanting to protect and profit from their investment, but on the other hand....
Legally speaking, this just sounds like a breach-of-contract case. If the contract had the provision that the farmer could save seed for replanting the next year, then there would be no problems. But I doubt that's the case.
But I'm interested in hearing what your "on the other hand..." argument is...
