What the heck are you jabbering on about? Seems a rather bizarre response to my choosing not to go along with your idea that I should pretend to be president for the purposes of this discussion. When dealing with failure and loss, the healthy response is to change the > way you think, not to merely change tactics. If changing the way you think means taking the easy way out, and leaving tens of millions of people to additional suffering, then I don't agree....
Can you offer evidence that they'll suffer less if we continue on the present track? They're certainly suffering more than they did before we liberated them from Saddam... their infrastructure is destroyed... electricity, health care, nutrition, employment, etc. If things were getting better, wouldn't they want us to stay? With civil war either present or looming, the old "hope" argument doesn't work for me any more. There would only be hope if there were signs that the three feuding groups were heading toward a stable national agreement.
