While I don't know how well Porter knows Clinton, if I had to guess I know him better than Clinton does. I've known him for five years now, including taking a class from him, but I got to know him well outside of class after that. You'd have to know Roger to get this, but I honestly don't think that he's ever sworn in his entire life. You just can't _imagine_ him saying "cut the crap" to anyone. The very idea is absurd - I mean, really, really absurd. Porter's an amazing guy. Rhodes Scholar (his son is also a Rhodes Scholar, btw), White House Fellow, the only person _ever_ to be chief domestic policy and economic policy advisor to the President. But he's also the quintessential gentleman - a devout Mormon also, btw, but literally a model of flawless courtesy and decorum. There's just no chance. Dr. Brin can froth all he wants, but if Clinton didn't gratuitously lie about one of his generation's most distinguished public servants, this whole thing wouldn't have come up. ===== Gautam Mukunda [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Freedom is not free" http://www.mukunda.blogspot.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
