BD,

With the Women's tour kicking off in a big way this year we thought it
was about time that the Women's tour had its own predictions
competition. Hannah Easter takes us through the runners and riders.

If you want to have a go at our free predictions competition simply
follow the link below, choose the top 6 in order and fill in the tie
breaker.

To help you out Hannah Easter has taken us through the teams looking
to make an impact.

LeedsLeedsLadies – Finishing 4th at the European seeding tournament
(losing out on the toss in the game against Iceni) Leeds will be
looking to make up for that disappointing result, and bring some of
that SUPER, SUPER LEEDS magic to the pitch. With height in the squad
and handlers that move the disc well, their training over the winter
should ensure they are a team to be reckoned with. New LLLeeds player
Liz Edye, all the way from Australia, is one to watch, as are Sally
Frazer, Hannah Easter, Isla Ford, Sara Mitchell & Ali Smith, although
this is by no means all LLL have to offer. With solid players
throughout the team and some new talent to boot, everyone is a threat
so don't underestimate them!

Bliss – Taking the No.1 seed for Europeans with ease, Bliss have
recruited some more new players and the old hands are teaching them
well. Bliss's D is awesome, and the offence is spectacular, with
layout grabs and confident hucks. Players to look out for are as
always Tara Jewell, on FIRE after receiving MVP with Fury in Hawaii,
Bex Forth, Claire Parker, Laura Pearce, and I am sure some of the
newer members who are keen to make their mark in this 10 year
anniversary for the team.

LTD Women – We have not seen a Southampton women's team in the women's
tour since the days of Women in Black! Limited play very well in
mixed, but have yet to prove themselves as a women's team. If led by
WiB old hand Kathryn Gould, this team could be a dark horse!

Nice Bristols – Confident, fun and loud (and that's not just Adam
Batchelor on their sideline) Bristol play well under pressure and can
pull the rabbit out of the hat when needed. A solid team, winning 2 of
the winter All Stars events, and attaining 2nd seed for Euros, they
will be looking to reach the final of every Tour this year. The loss
of Beth must be hard but they seem to be coping well – not least,
fielding a line of 7.5 players now and then! Players to watch out for
are Sue Pioli (super Sue), Lucy Burn and Melissa, all capable of
something a little special!

Sublime Stars – a developing team from Portsmouth with routes back to
the Sublime men. Always enthusiastic and looking to learn. Will they
bring the Druid purple over to the womens division?!

Iceni 1 – A London based team rising out of the ashes of Princess
Layout/HRH with height and enthusiasm. Finishing 3rd at the European
seeding tournament, they have the talent to establish this new team as
one to watch out for. Players to look out for in this very
international mix include Carol, Maria, Katie Pugh and Jillaine, with
up and coming talent in GB Junior Olivia and Brunel Gemma.

Iceni 2 – Competition within this squad to gain a place on their 1st
teams and play at Euro's may well see the players on this squad 'do or
die' to get noticed and merit inclusion.

Mushiono – Fresh from winning the All Stars 2nd division in York, this
could be Nottingham's, Mushiono's big year with their hard work paying
off. Confident playmakers Rhian, June and Esther will be looking to
prove what they have against the big guns this year, and bring about
some upsets.

FloorPlay – Floor play are a team who have been developing over the
last couple of years from a force to be reckoned with indoors to a
team that realises outdoors is where it's at. They catch everything
and have got some really strong handlers in Leanne and Vicki, there
are a lot of talented athletes in the team who are being shown the way
by Steph and Gemma, who direct proceedings with support from their
coach Matt. A team of stars for the future who will have some really
close hard fought games over the summer.

Cardiff Ultimate Women's – This is the first outing for a Welsh team
in the women's tour but if following in the footsteps of Dave
Barnard's No Frills open team then they should put up a good fight.
Player to watch out for Taz / Tash.

Steal Ladies /GB – Well what can we say about the juniors… so young,
so much potential! These girls will just keep on going. If they play
with the same enthusiasm as usual then they will just go from strength
to strength. Hopefully the Sheffield Steel girls will just give them
that little bit of needed structure to help them on their way to
greatness. Look out for Sally Cannon- inspirational captain and good
handler, Lou Kittow - 3rd year as junior, great cutter and on D, Steph
Walker - newbie but great potential as handler.

Swift - They have been growing together as a team over the last year.
Winning the Women's tour 3 in Mansfield 2004, they will be looking to
add to this performance and do the same again; some great throwers and
some great runners, and will fight to the death… in true Scottish
style!

Cheers All

Tom and Hannah
PS please can someone forward this to the ladies list.
