Statto, Ronnie and all Yes Ronnie Statto's email does have a point. Why put Tour 0 where it is?
The answer to this is that last year none of the Open Tour events were held during the university term and as such many clubs saw a decline in the umber of new students turning up to play. So it was decided to have the Tour qualifier during term time so that freshers could be dragged along and gotten hooked on this wonderful sport. It was then further decided that it was best not to disrupt the Mixed Tour by plonking it in the middle so it will open the season for 2007. Having said that I must say that I Adam has a valid point - even if it wasn't put in the most eloquent fashion ;) People are too quick to email the entire country with these questions. This decision can be found in the September 2006 Board meeting minutes at http://www.ukultimate.com/docs and explanations can also be found in the Britdisc archives at http://fysh.org/pipermail/britdisc/ Specifically http://fysh.org/pipermail/britdisc/2006-September/004366.html and the member update http://fysh.org/pipermail/britdisc/2006-September/004420.html thanks to Si Hill. -- Regards, ______________________ Ed Blockley University Coordinator UKUA Board 07974 977313 __________________________________________________ BritDisc mailing list [email protected] http://fysh.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/britdisc Staying informed - http://www.ukultimate.com/informed.asp
