Hello All,
I am aware of a few teams that are looking for extra female players this weekend at Mixed Tour 3. So if you or someone you know wants a game then they should come along. Here is a reminder of the rules that may be pertinent for the weekend. Jaimie * * *Appendix 1* Details of what happens when a team does not have four fit players of one gender i.e. enough to meet the requirements, are below. This is a worked example, but the situation applies equally to both genders. In a game between Team A and Team B where Team A does not have 4 fit male players. If this situation arises: *A Before the game* Team A must notify Team B as soon as possible, at which point Team B have the following options. 1) Agree to play the full game, accepting the outcome no matter what the result (i.e. Team A can win), under the following conditions a) Every point is a 4 women, 3 men split; or b) Team A play with six players when Team B starts a point on offence and calls a 3 women, 4 men split. c) Team A may play with a 4 women, 3 men split when Team B starts a point on offence and calls a 3 women, 4 men split. 2) Claim the victory. No game is played. 3) Claim the victory. Play the game as a friendly, where the final score does not affect the overall result, to whatever rules the captains decide. *B During the game* Team A must immediately notify Team B, at which point Team B have the following options. 1) Agree to continue playing the remainder of the game, accepting the outcome no matter what the result (i.e. Team A can win), under the following conditions. Either: a) Every point is a 4 women, 3 men split; or b) Making Team A play with six players when Team B starts a point on offence and calls a 3 women, 4 men split. c) Team A may play with a 4 women, 3 men split when Team B starts a point on offence and calls a 3 women, 4 men split. 2) Claim the victory. The game ends. 3) Claim the victory. Play the remainder of the game as a friendly where the final score does not affect the overall result. *C In all cases* 1) Spirit of the game is the overriding principle. 2) Play must not start/continue, until the team captains have agreed on the rules the remainder of the game will be played under. If the captains cannot agree the game is over, and rule A/B 2) applies. 3) Team A must notify the Tournament Director as soon as is possible. 4) Team A must take appropriate steps to notify any future opponents as far as is possible. __________________________________________________ BritDisc mailing list [email protected] http://www.fysh.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/britdisc Staying informed - http://www.ukultimate.com/staying-informed
