All,
SE regionals has now been awarded to Southampton in the absence of other
firm bids.
I'm off to France after tour - please address further questions about
Midlands or SW to Si Hill on admin[at]ukultimate.com, because I'll be in
no position to deal with them, and it's too urgent to wait for me to get
back.
Thanks,
Benji

Thanks Wayne. Good point.
There's some info here:
http://www.ukultimate.com/about_the_uku/tournament_standards_and_guidelines
In particular, there's a bid form for outdoor events. This is a little
bit in-depth for one-day regional events, but nevertheless should
provide good clues as to what info UKU is likely to need. Clearly the
party and accommodation and all that stuff is unnecesary, but still
it's a good place to start.
Actual requirements for regionals vary by region - some are larger
than others. They will most likely all be one-day events, and
something like 3-4 teams/pitch would make a reasonable schedule
possible. More than 4/pitch might be tricky, though might be possible
depending on the exact situation.
Best bet, as always, is to get in touch with any questions.
Cheers,
Benji

Benji,
Are there any estimates on what potential bids may be needing to
provide, in order to host an event?
(e.g. how many teams / players / pitches / days might a TD/venue be
looking at?)
Is there guidelines / paperwork to help potential TDs sort this out?
i.e. if a potential TD can contact/visit a venue with a
checklist/questionnaire of requirements, it looks good!
There used to be such a thing on www.ukultimate.com, but I can't find
it [and I appear to have lost the email you sent me last(?) year]
I'm pretty sure that other people would find this info helpful to
assist them in answering your plea!

BD,
We have awarded regionals in the North, Scotland and London. That still
leaves us with no venue in SE, SW and Midlands, unless I've made a
terrible
error and forgotten something...
There are lots of reasons why you might want to look into getting a
venue -
it would mean you don't have to travel, and you might make a couple
of quid,
and it means teams from your region can actually qualify for
nationals...
;-)
Apologies for leaving this reminder a little later than I should
have, I was
distracted from this - but it is now very definitely urgent. A
couple of
people had been in touch a while ago to say they were looking into
it, but
nothing firm.
If the tournament ends up right on the very edge of your region, and
you
have to drive a bit to get there, don't be complaining - it's too
late for
me to be picky now! Get bidding ASAP.
Cheers,
Benji
