GSOC STUDENTS: so for those of you that have joined recently or just haven't noticed the chatter, Tom has awesomely prepared a virtual disk image that has BRL-CAD already downloaded, configured, installed, and ready to go. Included in there is all of our documentation, pointers to useful code examples, and more. More details here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/brlcad/files/BRL-CAD%20for%20Virtual%20Machines/ The aim is to make things as easy as absolutely possible to help new contributors get started. BRL-CAD can be understandably intimidating if you've not dealt with large software before, so we're trying to make things even easier this year. Regardless, it's also a one-stop place to "get everything" in a preconfigured environment even if you're not having trouble building on your own system. You're welcome to try it out and let us know what you think. You're the first to try it out. You'll need to download a virtual machine like VirtualBox (free) and have about 6GB of disk space available. More instructions at that link and inside the disk image itself after you have it running. For those that joined recently, you're encouraged to introduce yourself and share what project(s) you're interested in. Don't be shy. :) Cheers! Sean > Hm, apparently file is too long to display, is that okay? p.s., Tom: It's displaying for me, so it's certainly okay to me.. ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF email is sponsosred by: Try Windows Azure free for 90 days Click Here http://p.sf.net/sfu/sfd2d-msazure _______________________________________________ BRL-CAD Developer mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/brlcad-devel
