Is it possible to solve this problem? Will solving this problem be
beneficial for the future or not? If yes, then I would like to work
out on it and will try my best to solve it. If you agree, will you
please provide me with the initials so that I can work on it in a
better way.

I have done various testing on different platforms. Here is the detail
about my testing.

1). I tested it on my fellows laptop, he's using ubuntu 12.04 and he
faced no error. BRL-CAD version 7.24.1. Here is the detail of OS

      Distributor ID: Ubuntu
      Description: Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS
      Release: 12.04
      Codename: precise
      Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHz vendor: Intel Corp.

2). Even I tested it on my another fellow laptop too. She's using
debian and she faced no error. BRL-CAD version 7.24.1. Detail of OS

      Distributor ID: Debian
      Description: Debian GNU/Linux 7.2 (wheezy)
      Release: 7.2
      Codename: wheezy
      Intel® Core™ i5 CPU M 450 @ 2.40GHz × 4

3). I test it on my laptop on two different ubuntu version 13.04 and
13.10. And I am facing that error. BRL-CAD version 7.24.1. Here is my
os detail

     (a) Distributor ID: Ubuntu
         Description: Ubuntu 13.10
         Release: 13.10
         Codename: saucy
         Intel® Core™ i5-3337U CPU @ 1.80GHz × 4

    (b) Distributor ID: Ubuntu
         Description: Ubuntu 13.04
