That's awesome to hear not only because of your professional remaking but 
because it probably gives you an uncommon educated perspective on interface and 
how software design elements are perceived by an audience.

You picked a rather complicated topic, so hopefully your C++ skills are strong. 
 If they're not, I might suggest considering something a little more simple 
like one of the other converters like the OpenSCAD exporter or the COLLADA 
importer.
