In my fridge it was quite obvious, the machinery was at the bottom, accessible from behind. The cooling panel was against the back wall (inside, of course). The cables for those have to be somewhere near the back of the box. The cabling for the thermostate, light, and door switch was all in a plastic conduit on the inside surface. I bet there isn't anything else hiding in those walls.
