Nice idea, but I am not sure how well it would work. I guess that many brewers do not just brew from an existing receipe, but adjust it to fit what ever materials happen to be at hand, etc. Perhaps beercalc could keep track of the pedigree of a receipe, so that when I click "save as" to make my own (modified) copy of your receipe, beercalc could remember where the idea came from. When reading my receipe, I could see that it has been used as a basis for 4 other beers, including yours. And that the receipe itself derives from some other beer. Then I could go and check the comments on those related beers, and get a better idea of how it is. Later we could draw large family trees of beer receipies, and follow the development... Calculate the merits of each receipe on the success of its descendants. What do you think, folks? Dan, does this sound technically reasonable?
