This idea comes up every now and then. Opinions differ on what is best,
personally I love getting all the discussion in my mailbox, where my
filters can sort them to the right places, and where I have my own
shortcuts for various things.

But the main argument to keep the list is that part of my work is to
keep our company's mailing lists running, and handling one more list is
no big deal. Installing and maintaining some forum system is not part of
my job, so I would have to do it all on my own time.

As the security guy at Index Data (who hosts this list), I have had
people asking for such a forum, and I have talked them away from it,
mostly for security and maintenance reasons. Since then, I can not
justify suddenly changing my mind, and installing one for my own hobby
horse.

In other words, I can not provide a forum. If I could, we might take a
vote about it, and I would certainly vote against. If someone else
starts one, good luck, but do it without me.

Meanwhile, we are working on the wiki system (also something I have to
maintain in my job). The most common questions can be answered there, I
hope. Maybe I should make a wiki page on this forum idea as well.
