ok. i loaded the hwpmc - kldload hwpmc
and run pmcstat -TS inst_retired.any_p -w1
PMC: [inst_retired.any_p] Samples: 220 (100.0%) , 36 unresolved
%SAMP IMAGE FUNCTION CALLERS
67.4 kernel acpi_cpu_idle_mwait acpi_cpu_idle
it is a clean server and its doing nothing right now
why is so high % using acpi_cpu_idle_mwait ?
ti have tried in bios various combinations of power management
maximum power, balanced, minimum etc... but with no luck
by the way - i even installed a clean bsdrp 1.97 - absolutely identical
situation with acpi_cpu_idle_mwait using 70%
please could you help with this ?
