I think all of the files in the examples/startup-files directory should be treated as museum pieces. You wouldn't go into a museum and start insisting that all the displays be changed to bring them up to current standards, would you? And, yes, we've all weighed in on how we'd re-write the repeat/seq example if we were doing it ourselves today.
