Akim,
I'm writing directly to you since I haven't yet installed the latest,
but to offer some advice and experience.
First of all, my screen is a professional graphics one; that is, it is
used by professionals in the graphics field. Thus, if you make anything
blue, it will be blue, that is, indigo; and I can hardly see that (as is
the case for most others). If you make anything red, it will be red,
which is at the other end of the spectrum, and also a bit hard to see.
When IBM developed the first colour terminal, the 3279, they
deliberately softened the blue and red to make them visible. I forget
about the blue, but the red was described as rather a bit orange.
Second, 10% of your users are colour-blind. Be sure that your palette
does not fade into nothing for them. I regret that I have no advice as
to how you can see something as a colour-blind person experiences it;
perhaps you have.
All my best,
j.
