Please provide with some steps to reproduce it. I can't reproduce on Ubuntu
18.04.3 here with:
$ truncate -s 15T a
$ find . -mtime -1 -ls
59965646 4 drwxrwxr-x 2 me me 4096 Oct 9 20:29 .
59912668 0 -rw-rw-r-- 1 me me 16492674416640 Oct 9 20:29 ./a
Please also clarify what you mean with "(the smallest one I saw)".
