Conceded.  In other respects we seem to follow, in our Texinfo manual,
a practice of laying out every "official" detail about a request,
register, or escape sequence that there is to document.

And it doesn't seem, four or so years later, to be all that costly in
proportional word count to find a place to stick the word "read-only"
back in where applicable.
