I have just tried GRUB 0.5.94. I sitll can't get it to work, but I have some
more news. Geometry command reports the following data : 553/255/63 for C/H/S,
respectively (this is different from what Linux kernel reports). Geometry
also says drive is in CHS mode. I then proceeded with install command which
worked OK (or at least didn't report any problems) and rebooted. It only
printed 'stage1'. 'stage2' never showed on screen. Is there anything else
I could do to figure out where it dies ? I remember that GRUB 0.4 had
"debug" mode where it printed letters indicating what it had done so far
in stage1 - is there something similar in GRUB 0.5.x ?
Thanks for your support.
