But Okuji is right, diskless boot is a good alternative to
that. And it's another reason while I got to grub.

However you don't always have a network, so my interest in this idea
remains. When I'll have something working I'll report here. It won't
be very soon, though, as I'm near deadline for the second edition of
the book you named.
