Of course I can't speak for anyone else and I am not a maintainer or
so.  But if you send in a patch for GRUB 2 I will at least read it and
start a discussion about it.  If not, please bother me about it.
That said.  I would really like a diskless boot feature for GRUB 2, as
long as it remains portable somehow (perhaps reading the grub-devel
mailinglist archives can get you started).
