Is there another place where I can find information on how to use Grub2? I'm familiar with Grub Legacy but things have changed in a significant way. What I'm really after is using Grub2 to boot from a floppy. In Grub Legacy I used the following recipe:
% fdformat /dev/fd0 % mkfs -t msdos /dev/fd0 % mkdir -p /floppy % mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /floppy % mkdir -p /floppy/boot/grub % cp /usr/local/lib/grub/i386-pc/stage* /floppy/boot/grub % grub grub> root (fd0) grub> setup (fd0) grub> quit How do I adapt this procedure to work on Grub2? I did not find a "stage1" nor "stage2" files in /usr/local/lib/grub/i386-pc/ and, from what I read, the "root" command has been replaced, so the sequence of steps above must be modified, but how? With my makeinfo 4.13 the output is similar. Well if you really want to fix it feel free to do send a patch but then you need to lern Texinfo. -- Felix Zielcke Proud Debian Maintainer and GNU GRUB developer
