Follow-up Comment #3, bug #48228 (project grub):
Did you test upstream GIT? If root is zfs, we should get
LINUX_ROOT_DEVICE="ZFS=${rpool}${bootfs}"
so I do not see how you end up with ${GRUB_DEVICE}. Please add "set -x" at the
top of /etc/grub.d/10_linux and attach trace output.
