Dear all, with a slight risk of talking to myself let me leak some information by mentioning that I today have reached a patch for our FTP client that enables IPv6 support. It is presently tested in GNU/Linux, GNU/kFreeBSD, OpenBSD, and FreeBSD to my satisfaction.
I will continue to disect the text some more, but the solution is related to the patch I crafted last year for the package "netkit-ftp" in Debian. Some mechanisms have now improved with the help of the experience I have acquired since then. Keeping in mind the backlog that exists in GNU Inetutils for my previous suggestions, there seems to be no hurry to submit also the present code for evaluation. The code I contributed to the TFTP server is closing in on eight months by now! Best regards, Mats E A
