I would like to add a pledge for strategic advice on this
subject. Since the first message I have elaborated on the
capacities of the client. Presently my suggestion is based on this
behaviour:
IPv4: 1) Try EPSV, PASV, LPSV
2) Try EPRT, PORT, LPRT
where the order indicates priority order, and where the use of
EPSV/EPRT can be toggled on/off by a command "epsv4".
IPv6: 1) Try EPSV, LPSV
2) Try EPRT, LPRT
I have tested all thes mechanisms against the FTP server present in
OpenBSD.
My question to all other developers is this: Is this priority order
acceptable? The inclusion of LPRT/LPSV is made in order to cope
with potentially deteriorate servers in use. Based on the relative
invisibility of LPRT/LPSV, that method is assigned a minimal
priority.
I think this is acceptable, yes.
