Due to daily work/life pressure, I'll have to step down as GNU
libmatheval maintainer. If anyone from the list would be willing to
take over the maintenance, please let me know.
Overall, maintaining libmatheval should not be too hard, as the whole
library is just about 3500 SLOC, and the code is rather simple (and, of
course, I'll be there to help along the way). On the other side, there
exist many interesting suggestions from libmatheval users on how to
improve the library:
- extend expressions syntax supported
- change expression evaluation back-end so that some of just-in-time
compilers, like one from LLVM (http://llvm.org/) project is
employed, thus enormously improving the speed of evaluation
- add support for handling complex numbers
- improve Fortran interface
- etc.
Thus, there is plenty of interesting work possible for someone able to
commit time...
Regards,
Alex
