I am not sure how your simplified example should be typeset. Is there a situation where it should result in a double slur? If there is, should the part combiner aim for events corresponding to a double, or to a single slur?

I think we had a separate report where people complained about identical markups not being folded when part combining. Should the part combiner fold here? Should the normal parallel music fold?

So I really am unsure whether adjusting the circumstances around the warning will be all that should be done, even though it should be all for removing the "Regression" part of this report.
