Ah I see! I was more thinking that they're more compact than regular
mensural flags really (I should probably have led with that actually but I
forgot), and I do like them lmao they're nice and round :) but I usually
keep to Corelli and later so I'll defer to you on matters of style. I do
remember seeing another work with this type of style, this time from like
1706 (!), so I'll see if I can find it bc I know I shared it with my
friends. I'll also look at some ricercare on IMSLP to see if there's
anything there, they're right around the middle or whatever idk how to
explain it. uh mid 16th c? yeah

I'm jealous, I'm from a fairly small town in Brazil so I can't go
physically to European libraries and am restricted to online archives :( I
