Dear standards maintainers, What if we translated command-line option names? I don’t understand why a command-line user should be required to speak English. In GUIs, menu entries are translated, and it is more helpful than annoying.
Are there fundamental problems with this idea, that we don’t see with GUIs? 1. Automatically invoking programs as sub-processes: it’s easy to set LANG=C when invoking a program. Or use short option names. 2. ? Happy hacking! Vivien Kraus
