I guess this idea settled in my mind because come documentation (e.g.
http://www.gnu.org/software/xboard/manual/html_node/zic2xpm.html )
mentions 'FRITZ4', and Fritz is a ChessBase engine. It is also a common
German name, however, so it is likely that I have just been jumping to
unwaranted conclusions.

>From what you say it seems like dropping zic2xpm would not hurt a living
soul.
