I think (based on what I saw in my measurements) the threshold is about 2.7V.
If your battery is below that, or drops to that level under load, you're in
the loop. Also, if you have an interruptible loop and let it continue, it
will deteriorate into the non-interruptible loop.

I can offer one work-around: connect the debug board and hold the device in
reset. (E.g., by putting something non-metallic and heavy on the reset
button.) This should allow the battery to recharge peacefully.

If you don't have a debug board, you could trigger a reset also by pulling
H-TP1508 to GND. (Beware, I didn't try this.)

------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-03-12 03:21 -------
Small update:

16bit: Working fine
8bit: Broken
4bit: Broken, but different from 8bit
2bit: Different broken again. Not able to launch matchbox.
1bit: Bluescreen only. Not even kernel messages.

Most important one is 8bit, perhaps 4bit. I think we can ignore 2bit and 1bit.

I'll continue with further debugging.

[This e-mail has been automatically generated.]

You have one or more bugs assigned to you in the Bugzilla
bugsystem (http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/) that require
attention.

All of these bugs are in the NEW state, and have not been touched
in 7 days or more. You need to take a look at them, and
decide on an initial action.

Generally, this means one of three things:

(1) You decide this bug is really quick to deal with (like, it's INVALID),
and so you get rid of it immediately.
(2) You decide the bug doesn't belong to you, and you reassign it to someone
else. (Hint: if you don't know who to reassign it to, make sure that
the Component field seems reasonable, and then use the "Reassign bug to
    owner of selected component" option.)
(3) You decide the bug belongs to you, but you can't solve it this moment.
Just use the "Accept bug" command.

To get a list of all NEW bugs, you can use this URL (bookmark it if you like!):

http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?bug_status=NEW&[EMAIL
PROTECTED]

Or, you can use the general query page, at
http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/query.cgi.

Appended below are the individual URLs to get to all of your NEW bugs that
haven't been touched for a week or more.

You will get this message once a day until you've dealt with these bugs!

8bit is important, we can forget about 2 and 4 bit (IIRC the 2410 can't do this
anyway), but 1bit would be nice if it is fixed, too.

I do have the debug board, but I found an easier way to get around it: I have a
Nokia N70 with a similar battery (BL-5C) that I "liberated" from the office lab.
Pretty painful phone (which is why no one was using it), but since the battery
works in the OM, the phone can be used as a battery charger.

Just for the record - the N70 will NOT charge the OM battery.

           Summary: AUX button sticking
           Product: Neo1973 Hardware
           Version: GTA01Bv3
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Core System
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

On my Neo the AUX button started to stick (the board-mounted button was
pressed in but wouldn't pop out again). I managed to fix it by applying a very
small amount of spray-on electrical contact cleaner to the button, but of
course I had to dismantle the device to do this.

If this was just my device alone then there's no problem, but if it's a
general issue with this particular button component it could be a bit more
serious.
