Summary: Inconsistent and confusing UI in openmoko apps
           Product: OpenMoko
           Version: current svn head
          Platform: Macintosh
        OS/Version: MacOS X
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Graphics Design
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
                CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The UI for openmoko apps is terribly inconsistant, especially the way to exit
them, some apps have an 'exit' menu entry, others 'close', 'hide', or no such
thing at all!

Compare the menus for openmoko-dates and openmoko-contacts to see what I mean.

Using Mokomakefile (which I changed for the PARALLEL_MAKE) it seems to work for
me. I can see top showing several compiler processes at the same time.

It looks like the dfu-util needs to have an increased timeout for checking for
the device after changing modes / resetting bus. Please see the following

It works for glibc, but it seems not to work for the kernel though. I am also
looking at alsa-lib being build with multiple compiler processes just now.

It will be as kernel module as this way we will get kernel booted a bit faster.
And this is one of modules which will be added into rootfs along with rest of
ppp stuff.

Agreed. Exit and Help need to be part of the Application Menu. "Exit" always
needs to be called so, no matter whether the application internally is closing,
hiding, or exiting (sic!)
