The default keyboard should also have the most common punctuation, etc. keys.
I think keys like @,.+-!? should be included in the standard layout if there is
still room.
Where possible, please try to use default locations (like on qwerty keyboard).

This is rather a problem with openmoko-panel-gsm.
The long delay comes from the timeout function. Currently the panel apples does
not update the image directly when receiving a Singal strength event, but up to
4 seconds later.
The whole handling will probably change anyways once we have a GSM GObject
abstraction.

What do you mean by "home mode"?

I think the best place for the operator name would be openmoko-today, since that
is the application that is shown if nothing else is active.
It would be nice to have the operator name displayed when a call is in progress,
too.

The GPRS symbol should only be shown if a GPRS connection has been established,
shouldn't it?
I'm not sure what problem you have.

Well, I personally think this is okay since an icon of a plugged-in plug is not
that characteristic.

We can lower the '5 seconds'. but the '8 seconds' is a hardware definde
dimeout. no way to change that without changing pcf50606 silicon ;)

it is known to not work if you statically link s3mci. Area you running a stock

I agree, 3 seconds for regular power off seems much nicer. Of course we would
need some immediate feedback, that the phone is shutting down so the user
doesn't accidently hard power-off the device.

I just verified this on my gta01bv3.
With
http://buildhost.openmoko.org/tmp/deploy/images/uImage-2.6-moko8-r0_0_0_1331_0-fic-gta01.bin
when issuing apm --suspend the Display turns off and resume works.

On
http://buildhost.openmoko.org/tmp/deploy/images/uImage-2.6-moko8-r1_0_0_1637_0-fic-gta01.bin
apm --suspend just results in a white display and the device does not seem to
resume correctly.
