Comment(by michal.penka):
I'm not sure that it's a the duplicate of
[http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/1928 ], it's the opposite problem. I
had a problem with Om2008.08 (images from 08. 08.), updated with zecke
repos - only manual suspend worked with the POWER button.
Now I reflashed with the latest images (both 20080830 and 20080831, kernel
20080826) and the problem is OPPOSITE, I can't turn off or adjust the
suspend policy neither from the Settings nor the Illume-config->Power
menu. Manual suspend with POWER button works.
Tell me what can I do to help. I'm not developer though.

On 2008.8 upgraded with stable up to P1-Snapshot-20080807 I get
intermitent USB networking malfunctioning.
There's no message on desktop end in syslog suggesting a physical
disconection.
However, I'm losing pings to the freerunner :
From 192.168.0.200 icmp_seq=4251 Destination Host Unreachable
From 192.168.0.200 icmp_seq=4254 Destination Host Unreachable
From 192.168.0.200 icmp_seq=4255 Destination Host Unreachable
Uplugging and replugging restores connection.
Im' using screen as a workaround to keep a connected session on the FR.
I noticed that when avahi-daemon was running on the desktop, it used to be
worse, and disconnections happened sooner.
Now, it will stay connected for minutes, but every 5min or so I have to
un/replug to keep it connected.

#1935: Om 2008.8: Provide additional languages for predictive mode of keyboard

Today the predictive mode of Om 2008.8 keyboard supports english text
input only. It actually slows down non-english text input as you are
forced to use keyboard zoom all the time because it's the only way to
override the prediction feature.
Additional languages should be supported by the prediction feature (e.g.
Spanish, French, German,...). This would improve the usability of Om
2008.8. for a large number of users.

Comment(by andy):
I would wonder about if it was DHCP or the route that was flaky - maybe on
the host laptop / PC - rather than underlying transport.
Check dmesg on the host PC as well, and run
ifconfig usb0
route -n
on both ends when it goes wrong (if possible).

#1936: PIN entry should default to numeric input
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
Reporter: rost | Owner: openmoko-kernel

Component: System Software | Version:
Severity: major | Keywords: keyboard pin numeric

-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
I got a new Freerunner, updated to the 2008.8 release and wanted to use
it.
After starting up the PIN dialog presented only lower case letters. I
think in almost all cases PINs are numeric. So it would be much more
userfriendly, if you could default to numeric input.
Some more rant:
I did not see any clue how to switch to numeric input. After despairingly
clicking around I was finally switching off my Freerunner and wanted to
throw it away. After some googling I read all the documentation about the
Openmoko keyboard and finally are able to use it but I really do not like
it.
I seriously doubt that hiding essential features behind "gestures"
(switching input modes, whitespace, backspace) is a terrible idea and will
make most end users hate you...
Setting Severity to major because this bug makes the Openmoko essentially
unusable for normal users.
