As someone pointed out somewhere else, this is indeed the X screensaver,
doing "xset s off" from the terminal will cause the X thing not to appear.
The unable to open display happens when you try to do this without
DISPLAY=:0 set.
Now turning off the screensaver leaves me what this ticket really is for.
Setting blank or suspend times in the illume-config thingy doesn't
actually change anything. Now it's just on all the time :)
Interestingly I cannot manually suspend either, the power button now
brings up the X screensaver again.

2.) The Qtopia predictive keyboard gets a XClientMessage that the current
input hint is XYZ and should change to that. Ask raster or me for how the

prior to suspend pulseaudio is busy with querying both
/dev/snd/pcmC0D0p and /dev/snd/timer
after resume - it doesn't care about timer anymore and just loops at
pcmC0D0p according to strace:

src/libraries/qtopiaphonemodem/qmodemphonebook.cpp in the Qtopia tree.
Everything that Qtopia is doing is to query for the CharSet (AT+CSCS?) of
the Modem. It is not setting it. When we are going to set it the question
is what should we set it to?
ts_100916v070800p.pdf ยง5.5, should we just set it to UCS2? Qt should be
able to UCS2 easily.
